Hong Kong Visit

Date:   May 2015

Our design engineer, Lauren Ashmore visited Hong Kong earlier this spring as part of her studies at the University of Central Lancashire.

Lauren presented her paper “An Investigation into Possible Methods of Potable Water Production & Distribution for Domestic Use in the United Arab Emirates”. The presentation included information on the regions climate, natural potable water availability and possible solutions including District Energy Schemes, Desalination processes and alternative options to prevent solar gain and water contamination.

One part of Lauren’s presentation included a survey that many of GMS’s customers took part in, Lauren would like to thank all those who took part as it provided vital evidence to back up her conclusions.

Part of Lauren’s visit to Hong Kong also included visits to the Zero Carbon Building in Kowloon Bay and a tour of the Building Services within the Hysan Place skyscraper in the Causeway Bay district.

Lauren continues her studies and is due to graduate in May of 2016 with a BEng in Building   Services & Sustainable Engineering.
