London Fire Stations

Date:   August 2015

Londoners are set to benefit from 9 new Fire Stations as part of a rebuilding programme, which will see some of the oldest fire stations replaced and updated to meet the needs of a 21st century fire and rescue centre.

The rebuilding programme has been phased over two and a half years, and the construction of individual stations are being staggered to ensure the continued provision of a full emergency service in the Greater London Area.

GMS have been involved in supplying 1000 and 2000 litre indirect storage cylinders for this project in partnership with BSS Reading and BSS Birmingham branches.

In 2014, for phase one, GMS provided: Mitcham Fire Station, Plaistow Fire Station, Old Kent Road and Oprington Fire Station each with a 1000 litre Stainless Steel Indirect Storage Cylinder. Each cylinder was also provided with de– strat connections and dip tube for efficient operation.

Phase two consists of 5 Fire Stations: Shadwell, Purley, Dockhead, Leytonstone and Dagenham Fire Station. For these particular Fire Stations GMS are providing two 2000 Litre and three 1000 Litre Stainless Steel Indirect Storage Cylinders.

All nine of the cylinders are insulated with 50mm of fibreglass mattresses secured to shell and enclosed in stucco aluminium  cladding.

Unvented kits were also supplied with each cylinder complete with a 200 Litre Expansion Vessel and Ancillary kit to suit
